Looking for something to do this weekend? “Night Owl” is a quick guide to special nights at bars and clubs around town. We’ll give you a few hints re: cover, dress code, music and atmosphere. Every Friday and Saturday marks Live Music at The Loft Again.

The Loft Again is the quintessential dive bar. So when they have their weekly Live Music nights, don’t expect anything other than a room full of regulars, broken stools and classic rock covers.
Check out the most recent edition here and our impressions after the jump…

The Place: 15015 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85032
The Time: Every Friday and Saturday, 9 p.m.
The Cover: None.
The Parking: Lot.

The Bar: The extent of the drink specials according to the bartender: “What are you drinking? I’ll make it special.”
The Music: Power Steering brought out the classic rock radio standards and played them adequately. The bar welcomes different local groups every Friday and Saturday night. Next week welcomes The Backstage Crew.
The Style: Blue Jeans, camo and cowboy hats.

We’re thankful for you. Are you thankful for us?

We feel thankful for our staff and for the privilege of fulfilling our mission to be an unparalleled source of information and insight in Phoenix. We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to this community.
Help us continue giving back to Phoenix.

$30,000

The People: Middle-aged and over barflies who were more interested in the pool tables and the full bar than the band.
What we loved: With all the hipster dive bars around town, it was refreshing to experience the genuine article.
What we didn’t love: The lack of any beverage bargains.
Are we going back? We probably won’t be calling it The Loft Again.
