The Arizona Diamondbacks, by the numbers: 64 wins, 65 losses, 4-6 in the last ten games. They have 576 runs scored (good!), but 546 runs allowed (bad!). They’re 7.5 games behind the National League West-leading Padres, and five games behind the LA Dodgers. All that equals a 6.8 percent chance of making the playoffs — and one big opportunity to turn everything around.

On Tuesday, September 11, the D-Backs will kick off a two-game home battle against their just-ahead neighbors in hopes of dislodging LA’s second place standing in the NL West. The numbers may be bleak, but the National League West is still the most open of all the conferences, and you can count on the D-Backs to tally some major runs.

Tue., Sept. 11, 6:40 p.m., 2012
