The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $15,000 by August 9.
We once had a roommate who hated Bill Maher. Could not stand him. If Maher’s HBO show, Real Time, came on, the roomie would proceed to yell to the rest of us all the reasons he despised Bill. He stormed out of the house when he found us watching Maher’s anti-religion documentary, Religulous. But our roommate was also an AK-47-owning gun nut and a hardcore conservative with a picture of Reagan hanging above his bed. If those are the kind of people who hate Bill Maher, then he must be doing something right. On October 4, Maher is coming to Comerica Theater for a night of politically incorrect humor. Our roommate wouldn’t go see him, but you should.
An Evening with Bill Maher begins 8 p.m. Saturday at 400 West Washington Street. Tickets start at $41. Call 602-379-2800 or visit www.ticketmaster.com for more.
