In the eyes of Phoenix Art Museum curators, bigger isn’t always better — but it’s certainly a popular trend in photography. The museum’s current collection of photographs spans hundreds of borders and subjects, and with “The Big Picture,” on view through Sunday, December 2, the common factor is size.

Ten large-scale photographs hang side by side and guide a conversation about size and presentation in the form of portraits, landscapes, and a variety of imagery.

Thursdays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sundays, 12-5 p.m.; Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; Fri., Nov. 2, 6-10 p.m. Starts: Oct. 13. Continues through Dec. 2, 2012
