While Midwestern powerhouses like Minnesota tend to dominate the college wrestling scene, no wrestling program has produced more great underdog stories than Arizona State’s. Whether it’s producing one-legged national champions, such as Anthony Robles, or being improbably reinstated after having its funding cut, ASU’s wrestling program is always proving that you can’t count out the little guy.

The Devils may find themselves in somewhat unfamiliar territory when they host the State of Arizona Wrestling Festival at Wells Fargo Arena. That’s because ASU will be heavily favored in their matchups against Embry-Riddle College and Grand Canyon University. With reigning Pac-10 Champion Jake Meredith leading the way, ASU figures to have a good showing.
