The tendency of art in the past century has been to kick the old to the curb, to break away from the traditional once any medium is labeled as such. Lately, certain contemporary artists have seen fit to drag various processes from the crowded depths of obsolescence and attach new significance to their formal qualities. The alliteratively titled “Mixed Media Month” squares up nicely with what’s going on in contemporary art these days. The exhibition features the work of Brenton Hamilton, who specializes in cyanotypes (a photographic process last widely used when the Victorians were running things), and Linda Parker, whose pieces range from gouache paintings to concrete sculptures. The show closes with a reception.
