Equipped with a tripod, Flip camera, and several gallons of water, we teamed up with New Times photographer Jamie Peachey to document exactly how long it takes some common household objects take to liquify when exposed to blazing solar rays.
Crayons are the gnarliest writing utensils ever; They smell awesome, taste good, and add groovy texture to DIY holiday cards. But crayons are made of wax, and we learned a few weeks ago that wax melts.
Nevertheless, we laid out a few crayons on the back patio and watched them wither. We caught the whole 33-minute process on video and sped it up to a YouTube-friendly 30-second time-lapsed piece, via the magic of editing.
