With a decent sense of humor and enough rehearsal time, putting together a stand-up comedy routine almost seems do-able. Sketch comedy, on the other hand, requires a razor-sharp wit, the ability to play off of others’ actions, and the might to keep a straight face — unless, of course, you’re Bill Hader playing Stefon, in which case suppressing a laugh apparently is impossible. Th [sic] Sense specializes in sketchiness, and the local troupe has rated-R comedy down to an art.
During its annual holiday show, Th [sic] Sense on Ice!, the troupe lampoons Chanukah, Kwanzaa, New Year’s, and everything in between, with a six-women-and-one-man show. After watching YouTube videos of the group’s raunchy “Momma Christmas” sketch, we expect that the sexy, funny ladies will make you feel like you need a post-show shower.
