Looking for something to do this weekend? “Night Owl” is a quick guide to special nights at bars and clubs around town. We’ll give you a few hints re: cover, dress code, music and atmosphere. Saturdays mark Mixtape at The Vig Uptown. at The Vig Uptown has just about everything it takes to be Phoenix’s next big indie dance night: Cheap Thrills resident DJ Don Ricardo, hipster promoter deluxe DJ Sean Watson, and perhaps most important — $2 PBRs.

The Vig has an orange backlit wall near the bar where you can release your intoxicated inklings with dry erase markers. Also, the staff and regulars were incredibly welcoming and friendly.

What we didn’t love: The trip the light fantastic indie hipster dance night that is Mixtape is missing the indie kids. There just weren’t that many people there in general actually.
Are we going back? We bet we’ll be back. We always were a sucker for a mixtape.
