Sit back in your Eames chairs, lest you jump for joy, Midcentury Modernists. Phoenix vintage home goods store Modern Manor is expanding into the former location of its recently closed next-door neighbor Phoenix Metro Retro.

As shown in the panoramic image above, a doorway has been made between the two formerly separate units on Hazelwood Street, just west of Seventh Avenue. With the additional 2,200 square feet, the already-expansive Modern Manor now will fill more than 6,000 square feet with the covetable inventory of beautiful furniture, knickknacks, and home accessories that’s made it a local favorite.

News of the expansion comes after Hard Goods relocated from its Central Avenue storefront into Modern Manor’s former metal letter room, where HG head honcho Brandon Gore sells his concrete wares along with locally crafted items.

But those aren’t the only changes the Melrose District must-see has made. In the store’s new space, Phoenix artist JB Snyder has painted a wall-spanning mural in yellows and grays. As if the Manor needed something else for us to longingly gawk at.
