Local cartoonist Dave Quan adopted the pseudonym Luster Kaboom – not because he was expecting fame and fortune, but because his mom doesn’t appreciate his art. That’s understandable, considering Quan recently did a portrait of a snarling, drooling mother with grotesque sagging skin. Quan’s humorous work is also featured on a line of baby clothing with slogans like “Boobies, because I like to suck them” that we’re sure also make Mom beam.

Catch Quan/Kaboom’s latest creations in the “Hogwash” exhibit at Pravus Gallery. The free show also features work by urban artists Josh Taylor and Sket-One.
