It used to be that if you wanted to observe small orange creatures in their natural habitat, you had to travel to the nightclubs of the Jersey Shore or to an eccentric candy maker’s chocolate factory.
Now, you can get up close and personal with the original orange creatures right in our own backyard, thanks to the Orang-Hutan: “People of the Forest” exhibit at The Phoenix Zoo. As part of the World Class Zoo for a World Class City capital campaign, the park’s orangutan enclosure has received a major upgrade. The new habitat includes expanded indoor and outdoor space, with more room for swinging and climbing. The new digs will also allow visitors a better view of Duchess, the grand dame of the Phoenix Zoo’s orangutans, and her cohort.
