The start of the year is always something of a wasteland for sports. The Cardinals are out of the playoffs, Spring Training is months away, and the Coyotes are struggling. That leaves the Suns, the”Big Game” and not much else for valley sports fans.
Such times force you to be resourceful, which makes now the perfect time to take in something like Monster Jam at Chase Field, 401 East Jefferson Street. The show will be pretty much exactly what you’d expect: a bunch of monster trucks with names like Grave Digger and Crushstation will compete at donuts and wheelies and do holeshots over a bunch of beat-up cars.

Saturday, January 24’s event will kick off at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $30 and are available via www.ticketmaster.com.

Sat., Jan. 24, 7 p.m., 2015
