On Cars Toons: Mater’s Tall Tales, Pixar’s short companion to Cars, Mater battles all kinds of crazy characters in a monster truck rally. And, in real life, it’s sort of like that too. Take, for instance, the NAPA Auto Parts Monster Truck Nationals at Firebird International Raceway.
The high-octane event features top-shelf monster trucks like Bounty Hunter, Avenger and Brutis flying to and fro. Also on tap: drag racing exhibitions, 300 mph jet cars, stunt bikes, burn outs (no, not old stoners), and daily pit parties that offer up-close and personal time with drivers and their trucks. Fan favorite Robosaurus, the 40-foot-tall, 58,000-pound Transformer-like, electrohydromechanical beast will be there blowing fire and crushing all offerings.
