The trio behind the chalkboard bucket list and the public idea stickers are back with another tool that allows New Orleans residents propose ideas for a better future.
Candy Chang, and Tee and Dan Parham launched Neighborland, an online venue that residents can use to pitch ideas for vacant buildings, public space, and development projects in the works.
On the Neighborland site, visitors can pitch ideas for specific neighborhoods within New Orleans, vote to support others, and offer comments on existing ideas.
Those ideas can then be seen by the community as well as by developers, politicians, and entrepreneurs who can hopefully work together to build better neighborhoods.
The project is supported by Tulane City Center, Tulane’s Social Entrepreneurship Program, and the Rockefeller Foundation. Dan Parham says the group plans to expand the website to other cities (Phoenix included!) in fall 2011 — if you’re interested in participating in the project, contact the group by email at hello@neighborland.org.
