In memoriam of a dead and emo goth guy Halloween is creeping closer, so there’s nothing better than a bit of terror and madness to start your weekend right.
Spooky storyteller Edgar Allan Poe is being raised from the dead for your enjoyment at Soul Invictus Gallery & Cabaret for Poe 2010. Presented by the Arizona Curriculum Theater, horror-hungry audiences will hear the stories of good old Edgar as confessed by inmates of a 19th century asylum for the criminally insane.
The 8 p.m. show features “The Cask of Amontillado” (claustrophobics beware) as well as the poems “Annabel Lee” and the infamous “Raven,” while the 10 p.m. extravaganza promises to haunt your dreams with “The Black Cat” and “The Tell-Tale Heart.”
Seating is general admission, and no little ones allowed.
