We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: The can is the ultimate in beer technology. Not only does aluminum completely keep out sunlight and oxygen — beer’s mortal enemies — but it’s also easier to ship and store, better for bringing on a hike or to the beach, and perfect for crushing on your forehead in a fit of frattiness.
Saturday’s AmeriCAN Canned Craft Beer Festival is a celebration of beer’s perfect vessel. Presented by the Valley’s own canned craft pioneers, SanTan Brewing Co., the day will feature an educational beer garden, competitive beer Olympics, a concert performance from Reel Big Fish, and more than 150 canned suds from breweries across the country — from San Francisco’s 21st Amendment Brewery and Sun King Brewing in Indianapolis to Hawaii’s Maui Brewing Co. and Sixpoint Brewery in Brooklyn. Can you dig it?
