Nothing beats a New Year hangover (or at least keeps the kids occupied while you recover) like gazing at a blazing display of more than 7 million bulbs at a slow-moving, drive-through pace. This year’s Arizona Celebration of Lights concludes Sunday, January 1, from 6 to 9 p.m. It’s one of Phoenix’s largest holiday light experiences, with hundreds of individual light displays throughout the Phoenix Event Complex.

Following the tour, make sure to stop at Santa’s Village for a hot chocolate, snacks, and a photo op.

Mondays-Thursdays, Sundays, 6-9 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 6-10 p.m. Starts: Dec. 20. Continues through Jan. 1, 2011

Will you step up to support New Times this year?

At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
