Reader support matters more than ever

Polka music may sound square to you, but we pretty much think it’s the coolest thing ever (and not in that oh-it’s-so-ironic hipster sort of way). We may even become junkies of the stuff, thanks to Web sites like www.247polkaheaven.com, which, for real, streams live feeds of polka bands 24/7.
What could possibly top this? Try Way Out West Oktoberfest,. The beer-for-everyone blowout includes a Bavarian suds garden, a Madden NFL video-game tournament, the Let It Grow 30-foot-long mobile barbershop, and (yes!) live nonstop polka jams. Joel’s Polka Band, The Dummkopf’s, and the Das Aubachtal Sextett, who hail from Regensburg, Germany, will post up just to the left of the main entrance at Tempe Beach Park.
