As soon as the crew at Oasis on Grand can get a certificate of occupancy, the adaptive reuse project of live/work studios on Grand Avenue will be open and ready for business. In the meantime, they’re taking reservations for units.
Real estate developer Timothy Sprague (also behind Portland Place Condominiums) and his firm, Habitat Metro, are behind the $5 million project at 1501 Grand Avenue, which has transformed the former flophouse into a colorful residence with commercial zoning and “front door retail exposure” to allow for a live/work environment for local artists.
The Oasis’ 60 units have three floorplans, including a 322 sq ft studio for $408 per month, a one bedroom for $477 per month, and a “livable gallery” one bedroom for $477 per month.
The complex also has a common courtyard and gallery for residents, a community website that will feature residents’ work, and onsite laundry and commercial retail spaces.
Leasing is based on affordable housing opportinities, and based on availability, income restrictions may apply.
