When it comes to upscale Japanese cuisine in right here in the Valley of the Sun, no one does it better than James Beard Award-winning chef Nobuo Fukada, of Nobuo at Teeter House. When a chef’s got that much street cred, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he specializes in omakase, meaning “I’ll leave it to you,” a style of dining in which guests allow a chef to make up the menu as he goes. On Monday, July 8, Nobuo will take the charcoal-burning stage at Scottsdale’s Roka Akor, 7299 North Scottsdale Road in Paradise Valley, where he and Roka Akor chef German Saga will create an omakase dinner on the restaurant’s robatagrill.
The Night with Nobuo dinner will cost $95 per person and there will be two dinner seatings at 5:30 and 8 p.m. Reservations are required. To make yours, call 480-306-8800 or e-mail scottsdale@rokaakor.com. For more information visit www.rokaakor.com.
