Did you know that the first North American ubran civilization pre-dated the Aztecs?

Yeah, neither did we. Which is why all of us should head to Deer Valley Rock Art Center to bone up on our ancient history – particularly that of Teotihuacán, a city in central Mexico that’s home to stunning pyramids, apartment complexes, and murals that were built between 100 BC and 240 AD. On view through Sunday, January 31, of 2015, “Teotihuacán & ASU: Archaeology in Action” allows viewers to do just that, with ancient artifacts and replicas of items used by the city’s long-gone dwellers.

Take a look at 3711 West Deer Valley Road. Hours on Friday, August 8, are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults. Visit dvrac.asu.edu or call 623-582-8007 for more.

Tuesdays-Saturdays, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.; Tuesdays-Saturdays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: July 8. Continues through Jan. 31, 2014
