One new idea for every day in 2011. We’re talking big, small, local, international, in action and on the drawing board. Here’s today’s — what’s yours?
Don’t expect to be able to park in the sweet spots next to campus, along Roosevelt Row, or across the street from City Hall in downtown Phoenix tomorrow morning.
If Rogue Green and other community activists get their way (and have enough quarters), they’ll be camped outside — all morning.

Tomorrow marks Park(ing) Day — the brainchild of San Francisco art/design studio Rebar — where “parking spaces around the globe to be temporarily reclaimed for people.” … people not in cars, that is.

Tomorrow morning (from 7 to 10 a.m.) the Phoenix team, along with the Dixie Devils band, dueling pianists, and Scandalesque performers are plotting to take over spots on Washington St. just east of Third Avenue and metered spaces on Second Street between Taylor and Filmore Streets.
In the afternoon (from 4p.m. to 7 p.m.), the shenanigans will migrate to Fifth Street between Garfield and McKinley.
Naturally, we’ll be checking in on their progress bright and early … and spending our quarters on coffee.
