The Phoenix Fashion Week team announced its 2013 pack of 12 emerging designers. In the coming months, the international bunch of aspiring fashionables will work on honing their brands and perfecting their collections, which they will show at Phoenix Fashion Week 2013 from October 1 through 5 at Talking Stick Resort.

We’re a smidge bummed that only two of the designers are based in Arizona. Doux Belle is shooting for an Old Hollywood vibe, and Medium Apparel (headed up by former New Times assistant art director Zac McDonald) has already been recognized by Rocawear for its streetwear.
Last year we had a good feeling about Bri Seeley from the get-go, and she went on to win Designer of the Year. This time around the competition looks a little stiffer, and if we had to place bets now we’d wager that front-runners will include d.p.c. by Dora Yim, who showed a lovely two-tone black and caramel dress, and Trang Nguyen, whose collarless tweed coat we couldn’t take our eyes off.
