Take note, local weirdos: The priority deadline for 2011 Phoenix Fringe Festival applicants is 10 days from now.

PHX:fringe 2011, as its otherwise known, is looking for theater, dance, and performance art peeps to take part in the shebang scheduled to take place from April 1 through April 10.

Applications must be submitted by December 17.

In the past, the forum for renegade artists has featured original performance pieces by folks such as Paisley Yankolovich, Chris Danowski, and Stephen Strange at a variety of homegrown central Phoenix venues, including Space 55 Theatre, Phoenix Theatre’s Little Theatre, Modified Arts, and Soul Invictus Gallery & Cabaret.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?

At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.

$30,000

The 2010 edition also showcased plays in Spanish and performers from Philly, Brooklyn, and Australia, just to name a few.
