After famously ditching undying, über-popular vampires for Catholicism, and leaving behind witches for more metaphysical angels, in her latest novel, The Wolf Gift, goth lit queen Anne Rice delves into a new realm of mythic creatures: werewolves.

Now, before you squeal over Rice joining Team Jacob, let’s make it clear that the story is devoid of teenage dating drama. Instead, she tells the lycanthropic tale of Reuben Golding, a San Franciscan reporter, who’s transformed into a supernatural howler after an animorph bites him.

Rice will sign her new horror hardcover during a meet and greet at Changing Hands in Tempe. Admission is free with purchase of The Wolf Gift ($25.95).
