Toaster pastries. Community college. Talking dog. Elizabeth is holding out for one nice ordinary day in Pluto, Steve Yockey’s play that’s presented by Stray Cat Theatre through Saturday, March 7. A radio speaks to Elizabeth directly, and the refrigerator’s moving: So much for normal. As it does in Yockey’s other scripts, reality messily bumps up against dreams, myths, and the symbolic soup of the human spirit.

The play, which underwent a rolling première in a handful of cities last year, has been described as “not for everybody.” In a good way, apparently. Tickets for the Sunday, February 22, performance are specially priced at $12 for everyone. Regular prices are $15 to $25 at www.straycattheatre.org or at the door, 132 East Sixth Street in Tempe. Call 480-227-1766.

Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m.; Thursdays, 7 p.m. Starts: Feb. 20. Continues through March 5, 2015
