There aren’t too many places in this wondrous hemisphere of ours where one might attend a pool party in February, let alone a pool party hosted by the Mayor. Lucky for you, Phoenix is one of those places. And regardless of how you feel about our Mayor gallivanting about in flip-flops and swim trunks, you’re probably wondering — like any good Phoenician would — who the mayor of Phoenix is. Ahem, it’s Greg Stanton. And on Sunday, February 2, Stanton will host the Mayor’s Super (Bowl) Pool Party at the Lustre Bar at Phoenix’s Hotel Palomar, 2 East Jefferson Street, in a not-so-subtle attempt to remind America that the Big Game is returning to the Valley next year and that the weather here is a lot nicer than in New Jersey, as are the politicians, apparently. Aside from spotting a shirtless Mayor, there oughta be plenty to do at this free event, which starts at 2 p.m. and is for those 21 and older. Visit www.lustrerooftopgarden.com or call 480-478-1765 for details.
