The signing of SB1070 has evoked feelings of anger, frustration, and disdain. So in an effort to restore some local pride, Barrio Café chef Silvana Salcido Esparza formed Calle 16.

The Calle 16 Mural Kick-Off and Silent Auction will feature an art auction, music, food, and information about Calle 16 volunteer opportunities. The list of muralists is lengthy (and impressive) and includes Jason Rudolph Pena, Pablo Luna, Gennaro Garcia, and many more. These talented artists have come together to share their voices and build some community, one wall at a time. Ultimately, they hope to celebrate Mexicans living in Arizona, via art, cuisine, and culture.

All are welcome, but space is limited so arrive early or RSVP at info@calle16.org.
