People are boring. Slap some felt around a pair of human hands and our interest is piqued. That’s why the adult-themed Spring Puppet Slam is bound to tickle our funny bone and fondle our minds.

The handcrafted characters that will be brought to life before our eyes might be colorful and goofy looking, but once they open their mouths, anything goes. In the past, there have been screeds against Sheriff Joe, zombie and alien attacks, and even touching tales that help lower our guard for some well-timed raunch. Homegrown talent abounds, but this slam will also feature master puppeteer Paul Mesner from Kansas City.

The 18-and-over shindig takes place at the Great Arizona Puppet Theater.
