People make fun of professional wrestling, but it’s actually a performance art. The coordination, agility, and strength required of pro wrestlers make the “sport” a lot like ballet — or at least like a bizarro version of ballet with carnies as dancers.
The fine-arts enthusiast in you should know that Ring of Honor Wrestling will perform in the North Gym of Phoenix College. The event will be headlined by a “Personal Challenge Gauntlet” in which ROH Champion Tyler Black will pretend-fight Austin Aries and Roderick Strong in consecutive matches. The card also features a grudge match between El Generico and Steve Corino as well as a world tag-team title match between The Briscoe Brothers and The American Wolves. On top of that, Necro Butcher – the dude who shot Mickey Rourke with a staple gun in The Wrestler – is also scheduled to appear.
