A Radical Phoenix group wants to turn our capricious youths into mug-clutching coffee klatchers with their Queer Coffee meet-up.

Case in point: They write on its Facebook, “Calling all Arizona queers, fags, dykes, gays, radical faeries, butches, t girls, lesbians, weirdos, punks, bears, tranny boys, femmes and everyone outside and in between.”

While it might make you nervous to sit around and exclaim to strangers about art, music, the outdoors, lube, books, bottoms, and safe sex, Rad PHX’s meetup isn’t like that, namely on account of the venue.

Housing this gayest of all salons is Giant Coffee, which recently opened up at 1437 North 1st Street with high ceilings, comfortable group seating, and huge clear windows overlooking the tiny but lush Cancer Survivors Park. A simple food menu and loads of coffee options at easy prices will make for hours of philosophizing about how to acid wash your blue jeans at home. After all, we’re here, we’re queer, and we’re highly caffeinated.

We’re thankful for you. Are you thankful for us?

We feel thankful for our staff and for the privilege of fulfilling our mission to be an unparalleled source of information and insight in Phoenix. We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to this community.
Help us continue giving back to Phoenix.
