In a town whose definition of old is a two-year-old vomit-colored strip mall with a Starbucks that recently folded because the Albertson’s shopping plaza across the street just opened with a Starbucks, sustaining a bar that isn’t a chain ain’t easy. King’s Cocktails, Pete’s News Room, and Hamm’s are just a few of the recent casualties that have been subtracted from the unique fabric of our urban core.

Though it may sound like a joke, we’ll definitely tip back a few at the Jay’s Cocktail Lounge Fourth Year and the Bar’s Still Open Anniversary. The west-side watering hole will host blues and classic-rock bands, discounted prices on grub, and, of course, booze specials.
