Reader support matters more than ever
We're in the final stretch of our summer campaign. Our goal is to raise $15,000 to support the journalism our community relies on. Reader support is helping shape the future of local news.
In a town whose definition of old is a two-year-old vomit-colored strip mall with a Starbucks that recently folded because the Albertson’s shopping plaza across the street just opened with a Starbucks, sustaining a bar that isn’t a chain ain’t easy. King’s Cocktails, Pete’s News Room, and Hamm’s are just a few of the recent casualties that have been subtracted from the unique fabric of our urban core.
Though it may sound like a joke, we’ll definitely tip back a few at the Jay’s Cocktail Lounge Fourth Year and the Bar’s Still Open Anniversary. The west-side watering hole will host blues and classic-rock bands, discounted prices on grub, and, of course, booze specials.
