We recommend the “Titanic: Treasures from the Deep” touring exhibit reluctantly, but nonetheless. Why? The “mobile museum” features goods recovered from the wreck site of the doomed ocean liner, which many would like to see designated a salvage-free memorial zone. The items you’ll see when “Treasures” visits Scottsdale Fashion Square – including personal artifacts and actual pieces of the ship – are from the collection of RMS Titanic, Inc., the company that owns sole salvor-in-possession rights to the Titanic. While zero salvage would be ideal, controlled salvage in a legal setting that discourages mob looting is probably the best terms this poor, star-crossed liner is gonna get.
