James Angel says installing his latest exhibition at Modified Arts was like coming home. The local artist has shown six consecutive times at Modified during downtown Phoenix’s Art Detour and has remained active in the local community with the long-running art collective 3CarPileUp.
This year, Angel says the theme for his artwork was “self emerging” — a collection of 11 pieces that are each a nod to his previous shows at Modified, and they are heavily influenced by a continuing fascination with beauty and decay. Angel will be showing with the artwork of local painter and tattoo artist, Melanie Corradi.
