Independent Journalism in Phoenix Needs You

We need to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.

$15,000

Cars and tattoos have a lot in common. They can cost a lot or a little. They can range from beautiful and shiny to sun-faded and hideous. You can get them from a professional or some shady guy you met at QuikTrip. Mostly, though, they’re both fun to look at — which is why you need to hit up the First Assault Car Show at PinUps Tattoo Co. on September 26. This automobile showcase will feature cars of all makes and models presented by some of the Valley’s biggest auto-enthusiast groups. The event’s free — just be sure to bring some canned food or old clothes for Pea Pod Angelz, a nonprofit group focused on providing food, clothing, hygiene products and other items to the Valley’s homeless.

The First Assault Car Show revs up at 6 p.m. Friday at PinUps Tattoo Co., 5112 West Peoria Avenue in Glendale. All ages are welcome. Call 623-399-9858 for more.

Fri., Sept. 26, 6-11 p.m., 2014
