Many have sought the bounty of gold rumored to be hidden in a mine at Lost Dutchman State Park, but the treasure never has turned up. Folks who attend the 41st Flagg Gem and Mineral Show might be tempted to mount their own search. On display at the expo will be the storied Peralta Stone tablet maps, said to reveal the path to the legendary mine.
For more practical attendees, there will be oversize quartz, fossils, and polished minerals to check out among the 100-plus vendors, clubs, and museums on site at Mesa Community College, 1833 West Southern Avenue, in the west parking lot from Friday, January 4, through Sunday, January 6.
