How often does an event feature a map that one can plant and grow when finished? Probably not often, but such is the case with the Scottsdale Cultural Council’s Cycle The Arts, an organized, guided bicycle journey that will visit art installations in Scottsdale, Tempe, and Phoenix. The seed-impregnated map, designed by Matthew Moore, guides cyclists to such pieces as Michael Maglich’s “Horseshoe Falls,” Evan Jespersen’s “Thrilled Pomposities,” and Lorna Jordan’s landscape and environmental art at Chaparral Park. And that’s just on the 6.2-mile Scottsdale Loop. The Tempe loop adds another 8 miles of riding, while the Phoenix addition recommends a light rail trip downtown to see Janet Echelman’s “Her Secret is Patience.”
