While the police are cracking down on pool parties across the city — prohibiting booze in the pool, shenanigans on the patios and stages near the water — a few Phoenicians looking to lounge and relax found themselves a sweet spot at the swanky InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Joya Spa.

The weekly event still pours cocktails, spins beats and welcomes the public — you just have to buy a $50 pool pass (includes a $40 gift certificate to the resort’s restaurant, ROQ), and keep the martinis out of the pool. The resort also keeps the MTV-style partying at a low. We stopped by the resort on Sunday to check out the action. The Good’s above, the bad and the ugly are after the jump, and the whole rundown in photos is in our ROQ Summer Pool Series slideshow.
