The Arizona Cardinals’ season-opener against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, September 11, may not be the best game on the NFL’s opening-weekend schedule. Hell, it might not even be televised. But it is the league’s most compelling quarterback match-up of Week 1.

The visiting Panthers will be led by Cam Newton, last year’s Heisman Trophy winner at Auburn University and the number-one pick in this year’s NFL draft. The rookie was a super-stud in college but enters his professional career full of question marks. And taking the snap for Red Birds will be Kevin Kolb, the most-talked-about player of the off-season. Resting on his shoulders is the heavy responsibility for single-handedly returning the Cardinals to relevance after the team’s dismal, passing-challenged 2010 season. Not an easy task, to be sure.

Watch the early-season drama unfold starting at 1:15 p.m. at University of Phoenix Stadium, 1 Cardinals Drive in Glendale.
Sun., Sept. 11, 1:15 p.m., 2011
