Looking for something to do this weekend? “Night Owl” is a quick guide to special nights at bars and clubs around town. We’ll give you a few hints re: cover, dress code, music and atmosphere. Every Saturday marks Saturdays with Mitchell Leonard at O.H.S.O.
Oh, so you go to O.H.S.O. and there’s no nanoBrewery or Saturday night drink specials, but somehow O.H.S.O. its Saturdays with Mitchell Leonard are still a cool, casual and overwhelmingly cute way to spend your evening.

The Place: 4900 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85018
The Time: Every Saturday, 10 p.m.
The Cover: Nope.
The Parking: Lot.
The Bar: The diligently designed “nanoBrewery,” which won’t officially be a nanoBrewery until sometime in the near future, boasts a mostly midcentury modern vibe. The Phoenix bar feels like an updated take on a jazz club.
Oh no! O.H.S.O.’s only bar bargain is their nightly Late Night Drink Special, a $4 Smirnoff you-call-it offered from 10 p.m. to close. One cool quirk about the bar are the sliced cucumbers in their complimentary waters. The $1 samples of the many different craft brews is pretty alright too.
The Music: Mitchell Leonard is billed as a mix between Amy Winehouse and Tom Waits. His hip hop-influenced jazzy piano numbers didn’t have the grit or grime of Waits nor the chemical dependency of Winehouse’s work, but he was definitely worth a first listen.

The People: A cool and casual crowd of those young and young at heart.
The Style: Stylish but in a way that felt forced at times, aka Lots of fedoras.
What we loved: O.H.S.O. is an Arcadia bar that felt more like a downtown Phoenix hipster hotspot. The crowd was composed of almost exclusively attractive people.
What we didn’t love: We didn’t love Mitchell Leonard, but we liked the way he helped set the atmosphere.
As far as O.H.S.O. goes, we loved quite a bit about the bar. The worst part was probably the back room/music lounge, which was too small and substantially warmer than the rest of the bar.
Are we going back? Oh, most definitely.
