Watching a horror movie can be a bit like riding a rollercoaster — however predictable, the twists and turns still make you scream.
Thrill-seekers can sate their appetite for scary during a ghoulish eight-hour horror movie marathon at The Royale. “I think people like to escape and they liked to be frightened, and then know that it’s just a movie,” says theater proprietor Andrea Beesley-Brown. “They like to be thrilled and have the adrenaline of seeing something, but knowing that they’re safe and sound in a theater.”
The film selection won’t be revealed until the festival begins, but Beesley-Brown hinted that the lineup would include four bloodcurdling classics. Between screenings, there will be relay races and giveaways to help the audience ward off sleep.
