True sci-fi nerds were way into Princess Leia well before Jabba the Hutt dressed the Rebel Alliance heroine down in Return of the Jedi. The magnetic allure of her take-no-guff attitude, whether returning enemy fire or quipping back at Han Solo, is sure to make an appearance at Scandalesque’s Sexy Sci-Fi show on Friday, June 28.

Scandalesque is swiftly approaching 10 years of entertaining Valley audiences with skin, sass, and cheekiness, and with this outing they’ll span the galaxy. While promo materials have tipped toward routines inspired by Avatar, Stargate, and, yes, a bikini’d Leia, there’s a big universe of TV film to draw from. Cosplay-minded fans can get in on the act by showing up in costume to vie for nerdy glory in the night’s Best Sexy Sci-Fi contest.

Scandalesque’s Sexy Sci-Fi is at the Phoenix Center for the Arts, 1202 North Third Street. Performances take place at 7 and 9 p.m. Friday, June 28, and continue through Saturday, July 6. Doors open an hour before showtime. Tickets range from $25 to $55. For more info, visit www.scandalesque.com or call 602-254-3100.

Fridays, Saturdays, 7 & 10 p.m. Starts: June 28. Continues through July 6, 2013
