Guess who wins when Scottsdale Public Art and Creative Connect team up in a couple of weeks?
You, friend.
On Tuesday, October 12, Scottsdale Public Art will take its first steps towards producing its next big project and they want your ideas and suggestions during a shindig at 5th & Wine. Along with Creative Connect, the two orgs will kick-off the “IN FLUX” project, which will showcase temporary public art installations at various vacant and active storefronts.
Founded in 1985, Scottsdale Public Art has won a grip of awards over the years while amassing an impressive collection of works that includes Jack Knife by Ed Mell. SPA’s “IN FLUX” also stamped its approval on “Open for Business: Artist Installations in Businesses of Downtown Tempe,” which opens at the ASU Art Museum on October 8 and remains on display through January 29, 2011.
The anybody’s-welcome, all-ages event takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. at 5th & Wine, 7051 East 5th Avenue in Scottsdale. Light refreshments will be provided. For details, check out the Facebook event page.
