Alt-rock act She Wants Revenge is a musical rarity. Armed with the ability to wear their influences on their sleeves without sounding too derivative, the duo of Justin Warfield and Adam 12 write songs that make nods to decades past without coming off as anachronistic.

Since the release of their self-titled debut in 2006, the band has been churning out solid electro-pop that’s infused with a healthy reverence for the Factory Records-era Britrock of Manchester, England. Warfield tiptoes the line between Ian Curtis warble and Richard Butler swoon with his lyrics, exhibiting a surgeon-like precision over an ethereal bed of synth-infused hooks and classic electronic beats. After three years of EP teases — including such discs as 2008’s Save Your Soul and 2009’s Up & Down — She Wants Revenge finally released its third full-length album, Valleyheart, last month.

The band hit ground running in support of the album with a nonstop national tour that will pass through the Clubhouse on Thursday, June 16. SoCal rock trio Nico Vega and local rock outfit 49 Til’ Midnight will open the show.
