We’re covering an artist who paints horses, ranchers, and golfers. And she’s showing in a Scottsdale gallery.
Sound awful? Trust us on this one — it’s really not. In fact, artist Sherri Belassen is pretty spectacular. She seamlessly weaves a southwestern-inspired color palette with a stunning manipulation of spatial geometry that blends the dusty charm of desert imagery with contemporary abstraction.
In other words, she paints pretty. Plus, she often uses non-cowboy-ish subject matter in her works – like surfers, athletes and dancers – to keep things fresh.
