Turning water into wine is so 30 A.D. A modern group of Sonoran saviors up that ante by turning music, art, food, and booze into water. No More Deaths is a Tucson-based organization with a mission to end death and suffering along the Arizona-Mexico border. It provides resources and medical care along treacherous desert trails, and aid along Mexican border cities to those recently deported.
This Saturday, the organization will host its second annual silent art auction to raise money for water, food, and other resources. The first half of the event is a casual viewing of art and creative creations donated by local artists. Guests can mingle, drink, eat, and assemble a bidding strategy. The second half features a silent auction with starting prices ranging from $20 to $400. Post-auction, six local bands will perform.
