If we’ve learned anything from Tom Hanks, it’s that we can’t have angels without demons. And, although Christmas may appear to be the most heavenly of holidays, the battle of good and evil rages on, vying for our very souls. (For every Miracle on 34th Street and “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing”, there’s Silent Night, Deadly Night and Spinal Tap’s “Christmas with the Devil.”)

Fitting, then, for Alice Cooper, the Valley’s favorite born-again-boa-bearer, to invite us over for Alice Cooper’s Christmas Pudding. Now in its 9th year, the variety-show-style shindig entertains with a creamy blend of morality, with proceeds helping to build The Rock, a Christian youth center at Baptist-rooted Grand Canyon University.

Acts include something for the naughty and the nice, such as Warrant (“Cherry Pie”) and spandex showoffs Lita Ford and Dee Snider, as well as the River of Life Choir and the Solid Rock dancers. So who cares if your intentions are to get your ass autographed by Lita or help an angst-ridden teen climb a rock instead of having pre-marital sex? It’s all just a little rock ’n’ roll sin and salvation.
