Today is Local News Day
A national day of action to support and celebrate the trusted local journalism that strengthens communities. If you believe local news matters — this is the day to show your support. Make a contribution today to help keep our reporting free and accessible to all.
TED is kind of like NPR’s Fresh Air on crack. Founded in 1984, the conference brings together speakers from three different worlds — technology, entertainment and design (hence TED) — with the hopes of stimulating global and local discussions. All that’s missing is Terry Gross.
TEDx is the local, independently organized version. The event hits Chandler this Thursday featuring speakers with a passion to disrupt traditional ways of thinking. Speakers include author and M.D. Michelle May, Coffee Plantation founder Joe Johnston, education entrepreneur and enthusiast Snehal Patel, and founder of Ear Candy Nate Anderson. Attendees enjoy a three-hour schedule including short breaks between speakers and a buffet.
