“rachel’s tiny show” is a departure in size, but not in beauty, for Rachel Bess.

The solo exhibition opens Friday night with a Third Friday artist reception, and features a new series of Bess’ oil paintings. But there’s a twist: they’re miniature portraiture paintings that all measure three inches in height.

Reception hours are 6 to 10 p.m. at Perihelion Arts, 610 East Roosevelt Street, Suite 137, where you can meet the Phoenix-based artist with national and international cred. The exhibit hangs through November 13. Admission is free. Check out www.perihelionarts.com.

In the meantime, peep these images that will be on display.
